Your 3G Devices have an Expiration Date
Data and phone companies are retiring the 3G and 4G systems which are they have
been using for the last 5 years.
The cellular industry has updating and improved the transmission of data and have gone to the LTE mode “Long Term Evolution” which they plan on using for the next 5-7 years (or longer if they don’t have a better option!)
The good news is they are not changing the cost of the service, but we have to replace the cellular unit on the fire or burglary system for these vital devices to continue to communicate with the central station.
We are installing the new LTE cell units at our cost to help in this conversion to keep your homes and business safe and continuing to be monitored for the fire, police and emergency response.
The Coming End to ALL 3G Devices and Support
While we are only concerned with your alarm systems this will also affect your other devices. Here are the most important things to be aware of regarding the future of 3G devices:
June 30th, 2018 - No new devices activated after this date.
Summer 2019 – Repairs affecting cell radio chips to be discontinued
December 31st, 2019 – Complete shutdown of 3G network
June 30th, 2017 – Discontinued certification of new 3G device certification
2021 (TBD) – expected phase-out of 3G network, possible later
(AT&T already phased out its 2G network in January 2017)
Late 2020 (TBD) – will likely phase-out all 2G and 3G devices
Thanks for your business and we will continue to provide the best in security
